As Memorial Day has just passed and many of us took the day to enjoy some good food and fun the residents of Summit Greens were celebrating the true meaning of the Holiday by honoring our Veterans and members of the armed forces.
The Veteran residents of Summit Greens participated in this memorial event was that was attended by 130 members of the community. Fifty Veterans, some dressed in full uniform, participated in the ceremony which spotlighted each veteran and recognized their service to the country as well as recognizing the Summit Greens Veterans who had passed on after moving to the community.
After the ceremony the participants enjoyed a delicious BBQ and music while catching up with friends, family and neighbors.
A big thanks to Jeff Gay, Leland Management Community Association Manager, and the Leland Team for organizing such a touching and memorable event and helping us embrace the true meaning of the Memorial Day Holiday.
The residents of Summit Greens, located in Clermont are working with the Clermont Police Department to implement Operation Car Fit. Car Fit is a national program developed through collaboration among AAA, the American Society on Aging, AARP and the American Occupational Therapy Association which is designed to give senior drivers a quick, comprehensive check on correct safety belt positioning, distance from airbags, and how well their vehicles suit their abilities. It’s FAST, FUN, and FREE!
The program takes place at the Summit Greens Clubhouse and helps make sure that seniors (most of whom are residents of Summit Greens) fit in their car safely. The Clermont Police Department provides training to the residents of Summit Greens so that they can implement this program and help their fellow residents remain comfortable and safe on the road. The active community of Ridgemoor is located in North Pinellas County, Palm Harbor, Florida. The community was built in the early 1990’s with careful attention to detail in laying out the home sites, while still maintaining a sense of warmth and sincere appreciation of the natural beauty. Ridgemoor Master Association is responsible for the common elements shared by 1,196 homes and 19 sub associations. Each neighborhood shares the same care and concern for the upkeep and standard of living the Ridgemoor Development enjoys. The development contains lighted perimeter walls and decorative aluminum fences, 13 intercom gates, lush landscaping, 42 ponds in which 12 of them have lighted fountains. Decorative community signage and light poles and fixtures continue along all main roadways traveling into each sub association. The community park area includes tennis courts, basketball courts and a playground area the association is currently upgrading. The community also has many nature trails for walking or biking. Many original homeowners continue to participate in the community and are active as directors on the board or community volunteers. A twenty-four hour Security Patrol company adds safety and security to the community as well as two community Sheriff Deputies. Mary Fritzler, from Leland’s Tampa Division, is the Community Association Manager for Ridgemoor and meets regularly with the Board to ensure the community continues moving forward. Mary works closely with the vendors of the community to make sure all amenities and maintenance issues are constantly monitored for peak performance and the natural beauty of the community is maintained. Spring Isle Community Association is located in Orlando and was built in 2005.
Spring Isle Community Association has 271 homes and 390 townhomes. One of the caveats’ to owning a home in Spring Isle is the landscape maintenance performed, not only for Townhome residents but also for single family home residents. A high standard of uniformity is achieved with this process.
The community has a beautifully designed pool with brick pavers aligning the pool deck and surrounding areas. A tot lot and dog park are highly used amenities within the community. Conservation areas managed by St. Johns Water surround a large portion of the community along with brick perimeter walls.
Spring Isle residents are treated to many social and holiday events throughout the year. Meet and Greets, Spring Bash and Fall Carnival are just a few of the fun filled social events sponsored by the social committee. The community also partakes in bi-yearly community wide garage sale with a partnership was formed with AmVets and Goodwill of Central Florida. Items left outside after the conclusion of the garage sale is collected by AmVets and Goodwill as a donation.
2012 will be a very busy year for Spring Isle! The Board of Directors approved the construction of a new guardhouse to replace a temporary structure. The Townhome painting project is underway and residents couldn’t be happier! The Townhome tree project is a large scale project where trees are being removed from problematic areas and relocated to a better growth potential area. Spring Isle is also partaking in the Orange County Community Pride Grant Project for a community message center to be erected in the median by the exit and entry gates. Wish us luck!
